Phosphates, whitening agents, parabens, endocrine disruptors, synthetic fragrances, irritating and corrosive substances ... A cocktail that is scary. But do not panic! We have compiled a list of substances to avoid for you so that you can see more clearly.

Substances toxic to our health:

- Hydrochloric acid: corrosive, irritating to the skin and the lungs

- Oxalic acid: corrosive, irritant to eyes and skin

- Sulfamic acid: irritant

- Formic or methanoic acid: corrosive

- Acetone: toxic to the blood, kidneys, nervous system, skin

- α-hexyl-cinnamic aldehyde: irritant

- Alcohols, ethoxylated, C9-C11, 6 OE, C10: irritating to skin and eyes

- Ammonia: irritating to eyes, throat, skin and lungs

- Quaternary ammonium: irritant, allergen

- Benzene: possible carcinogen

- BHA (oubutylated hydroxyanisole) and BHT: endocrine disruptors

- Butane: neurotoxic

- Butoxyethanol: irritant, possible carcinogen

- Butylphenyl methylpropional: allergen

- Chloroform: toxic solvent suspected of being carcinogenic

- Cyclopentasiloxane: endocrine disruptor

- DAE (diethanolamine), MEA (monoethanolamine, 2-aminoethanol), TEA (triethanolamine): possible carcinogens, irritants to the lungs, skin and eyes < / span>

- Sodium dichloroisocyanurate dihydrate: corrosive, irritating to eyes, skin, lungs

- Diethyl phthalate: carcinogen, endocrine disruptor - can be hidden under the name fragrance if the product is not certified organic

- Ethanolamine: corrosive, irritating to the skin and the lungs

- Ethoxydiglycol (DEGEE): corrosive, irritating to the skin and the lungs

- Nonylphenol ethoxylate: endocrine disruptor

- Soda hypochlorite: irritating to the skin

- Lyral (or hydroxyisohexyl 3 cyclohexene carboxaldehyde): very allergenic

- Sodium lauryl sulfate or Sodium laureth sulfate (SLS): irritating to the skin

- Sodium lauryl sarcosinate (sodium N-Lauroylsarcosinate or sarkosyl): irritant

- Sodium metasilicate pentahydrate: corrosive and irritant

- Parabens (Butylparaben, Propylparaben or propyl parahydroxybenzoate): endocrine disruptors

- Perfumes, fragrance: if they are not labeled organic, they are potentially allergens and endocrine disruptors

- Hydrogen peroxide: irritant, corrosive, dangerous when mixed (acids, ammonia)

- Propane: toxic to the blood, kidneys, nervous system, skin

- Phenoxyethanol: allergenic, irritant, disturbsur endocrine

- Sulfamic acid: irritant, corrosive, toxic to aquatic organisms

- Alkyl ethoxylates: irritant, toxic to aquatic organisms

- Alkyl dimethyl amine oxide: irritant and dangerous for the environment

- Benzisothiazo-linone: irritant, allergenic, toxic to aquatic organisms

- Didécylmethyl-ammonium chloride: irritant, corrosive, promotes the appearance of resistant microorganisms

- EDTA: low biodegradability

- Formadhyde: pollutant, irritant and carcinogen

- Sodium hydroxide: irritant, corrosive, potential threat to flora and fauna

- Sodium hypoclorite: corrosive and dangerous for the environment (present in bleach)

- Lodopropynylbutyl carbamate: allergenic, irritant, corrosive, very toxic to aquatic organisms

- Sodium metaperiodate: irritant, corrosive, toxic to aquatic organisms

- Methylchloroisothiazolinone: very allergenic, very toxic to aquatic organisms

- Methylisothiazolinone: very allergenic, very toxic to aquatic organisms

- Trisodium nitrilotriacetate (NTA): possible carcinogen, toxic to aquatic organisms

- Phosphate: decreases the oxygen needed by marine life

- Phosphonates: toxic to aquatic organisms

- Polycarboxylates (PCA): low biodegradability

- Triclosan: endocrine disruptor, irritant to the skin and eyes, toxic to aquatic organisms
