How to get rid of lice naturally?

In this back-to-school period, it's not just children who are going back to school ... lice are also back! These unpleasant parasites are responsible for severe itching and it is not always easy to eradicate them. Is there a natural remedy for lice ? To our great relief, yes!

The louse is an insect that feeds on blood, it lives about 35 days and can lay 15 eggs per day. He likes heat and contrary to popular belief, he likes dirty hair as well as clean ones. But how do you get rid of these parasites that move from head to head?

A natural remedy for lice based on oils

To get rid of lice naturally, you will need to suffocate the lice and make the hair inhospitable. You can brush the infested hair with olive oil or with neutral henna (without dye). In either case, you can add two drops of lavender essential oil. It is important to insist on the roots since this is where the nits are lodged.

Once the hair is well coated, first wrap the head in cling film and then with a terry towel. Leave this wrap on for as long as possible, depending on your child's tolerance . The ideal would be a whole night for more efficiency.

Once the pause time is over, rinse well with lukewarm white vinegar then use a classic shampoo or a special anti-lice shampoo natural to which you will add 2 drops of essential oil of lavender or tea tree.

Leave on for 5 minutes then rinse thoroughly with lukewarm white vinegar. Be careful, it can sting the eyes!

Then proceed to a careful styling with a fine comb with tight teeth .

It is essential to also treat anything that has affected the hair. Put the laundry which supports it in the machine at 60 ° with white vinegar. For delicate laundry or blanket, give them a little stay in the freezer in a bag, a natural remedy against the most original lice! It is also possible to close everything in an opaque plastic bag, in which you will have previously put a few drops of lavender essential oil, and to leave it closed for 24 to 48 hours.

Lice, nits ... be vigilant all year round!

It is important to examine the hair regularly to your children and comb them for a long time every day in times of epidemic. It is also good to add to your children's regular shampoo, 10 drops of lavender essential oil and rinse with apple cider vinegar.

So that the lice have less catch, you can for example tie the hair of your children or prepare an anti-lice mixture. For this, simply put in a spray 100ml of cider vinegar to which you will add 15 drops of lavender essential oil then 100ml of lavender hydrosol. Spray this mixture on your children's hair and all clothing in contact with their head.

Don't forget the blanket and the bedding. You can also simply put a pure drop of lavender essential oil behind each pillow.
